Sabbat Demo MCs
The second installment in NWN’s Sabbatical Cassettormentorture Series includes Sabbat’s first five EPs, each in its own edition and featuring the original cover artwork and layouts that pay homage to the classic tape releases from Combat and Neat Records. This aesthetic touch is particularly fitting given the band’s early primary inspiration from Venom, a pillar in the roster of Neat Records. Venom’s influence is obvious on these five recordings, which include the self-titled “Sabbat” EP (1985), “Born by Evil Blood” (1987), “Desecration” (1988), “The Devil’s Sperm Is Cold” (1989), and “The Seven Deadly Sins” (1990). Given the rarity of the original vinyl versions of each EP, with only 300-500 units of each pressed, these cassettes serve to once again make available some of the most admired recordings from the one and only legends of Sabbatical Blacking Metal.
